Info 4. Matthieu Ricard. ‘Altruisme. De kracht van compassie’

Matthieu Ricard

Info 4. Matthieu Ricard. ‘Altruïsm. The power of compassion to change yourself and the world’

I am pleased to bring to your attention an outstanding ethical publication from the pen of Matthieu Ricard with the above title.
The way that Ricard puts the phenomena of self love, altruistic love, social justice, development, climate change and related issues together in an all-encompassing strategy of world development is very impressive indeed. The basis is compassion and altruistic love. The book contains hundred of references from authoritative studies and from statements from philosophers across the ages. If you want to read a constructive, benevolent guide to better ourselves and how to get to a just and compassionate world, I strongly recommend to read this book. It’s size (800 pages) is matched by its quality. If the price is a consideration, it is only 12 euro for the English paperback edition because of subsidy from ethically-oriented donors.
